Jaisalmer City Tour
It is a full day tour, and we cover the Golden Fort, Havelis, Bazaars, Vyas Chatri, Bada Bagh and Gadisar lake.
After breakfast we go to Gopa chowk (square) by hired mode of transport. From here we explore the Golden fort and its various architectural delights. Within the vicinity of the fort entrance lie the famed havelis known for their intricate sandstone carvings, namely the – Patwo’s, Salam Singh’s and Nathmal’s haveli. Post lunch we go to Bada Bagh which has a lake and some plantation giving it a feel of an oasis in a the desert. The main attraction are the grand cenotaphs built in the memory of erstwhile rulers. From here we head to Vyas chatri which are cenotaphs built of yellow sandstone comprising of magnificently designed chhatris placed on top of pillars. This is an ideal place to spend an evening, taking a boat ride, watch a fountain music & puppet show and do some shopping. Desert Safari & Quirky Village Tour
In this half day tour we cover Lodurva & Kuldhara village, Camel ride on the dunes, high tea, cultural evening at a desert resort.
After an early lunch we head to Lodhurva village which used to be the capital of the province before Rawal Jaisal founded the Jaisalmer state and built the fort in 12th century. It is famous for its Jain temples and architectural ruins. After that we Kuldhara village by car. Once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins, it was abandoned overnight, due to the atrocities of a state minister. The ruins give an eerie ghost town appearance giving rise to tales of paranormal activity.
From here we take a serene drive to the Sand Dunes. Once at the dunes we embark on a camel ride. As we traverse the dunes on a camel back while the Sun gradually sets, it makes for a memorable experience. Subsequently we head to a nearby resort for high tea and cultural program followed by dinner. Post dinner it is a 45 minutes’ drive back to Rupal Residency.
One can hire a sedan or a MPV for the above tour.
Various other adrenaline pumping activities that you may want to try are jeep safari, dune bashing in a SUV and adventure sports like quad biking & parasailing. They are not included in the desert safari package and can be booked separately at the hotel or on location.

Camel Ride

Half Day Tour
The tour begins post lunch with a jeep pickup from the hotel. Our first visit is to the fort ruins, which has sweeping views of the desert landscape. We stop by an oasis and a local village to get the feel of the village life. The jeep then takes us to a the camel point, in the middle of nowhere. Read More For the next hour we traverse the sand dunes on camel backs just as explorers and traders did in ancient times. We then alight the camel to enjoy a warm cup of tea and snacks while the sun sets over the horizon. Meanwhile our tour helpers prepare a simple yet delicious vegetarian meal over the embers and also light up a campfire. As the night darkens the stars light up the night sky and the winter chill makes us want to cuddle up. Full Day Tour
This captivating tour begins with a jeep pickup from Jaisalmer at 10:30 am. We first visit the Bada Bagh meaning ‘big garden’. A dam built in early 16 century converted the place into an oasis and plantation was done around it. The rulers started building cenotaphs in their memory until is was considered inauspicious to do so and ever since the site remains in neglect. Read More Next is Lodharva village, which was the ancient capital of the region before the fort was built in the 12 century. It was repeatedly attacked by foreign invaders to which its architectural ruins are a testament. The Jain temples, originally built in the 9 century had undergone repair and renovations in the 17th century and are the only standing structure among the village ruins. The packed Lunch is served under a tree beside an oasis under hygienic conditions. Post lunch is a visit to a dilapidated fort having sweeping views of the desert landscape. War Museum- 2 Hours
After a short rest at the hotel, next is the War Museum. It has information about the evolution of the Indian army and various battles it has fought over the years. Various war equipment used by army, the latest to vintage, captured enemy hardware and murals of soldiers are on grand display at the museum.

Border Tour
It is a full day tour, and covers the Tanot Mandir, Longewala Post and Indo-Pak Border. Only for individuals holding an Indian Passport.
This full day tour starts after breakfast with a 1 hour 30 min sedan ride to Tanot Mata Mandir. After darshan at the mandir, we head to the Indo-Pak border (aadhar card necessary) which is an experience in itself. Then we have lunch at a local restaurant and is followed by a visit to the Longewala post. The famous battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pak war was fought here and is a stuff of legends and even has a Bollywood film ‘Border’ made on it. If wars or Indian Army interests you then this place is a must visit as it has its own museum and some interesting displays.

Khaba fort is part of the famed Kuldhara village complex of Paliwal Brahmins that constituted an important landmark in the ancient silk route.
